Integrations
Overview
Integrations now have their own dedicated page in MindBacklog, moved out of Product Settings into a top-level Integrations item in the left sidebar. The page has two tabs:
- Connectors — MCP-based knowledge connectors that let Ask Mind search your own tools live (Confluence is available today; more are on the way).
- Native Apps — first-party app integrations with deep, purpose-built sync: Jira Cloud (bidirectional work-item sync) and Slack (feedback ingestion).
Integrations used to live under Product Settings → Integrations. They're now their own sidebar page. Any old links to the Product Settings integrations tab redirect here automatically, so nothing breaks.
Finding the Integrations Page
Open Integrations in the left sidebar, under the "The Mind" section. The page requires the Admin role on the product. It opens on the Connectors tab by default; switch to Native Apps with the tab at the top.
Connectors Tab
Connectors are the newest kind of integration: instead of piping data into MindBacklog, a connector lets Ask Mind reach into your own tools and read them live — grounding its answers in your real sources and citing the exact pages, with nothing copied or indexed.
- Confluence — Live. Connect your team's Confluence wiki and Ask Mind can search it live: specs, design docs, runbooks, meeting notes, decisions. See the Confluence Connector guide for setup.
- Amplitude — Coming soon. Live product-analytics grounding: metrics, funnels, retention, experiment results as evidence in Ask Mind's answers.
Connectors are built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) — the same standard that powers MindBacklog's outbound tools for Claude and Cursor. This is the inbound direction: MindBacklog acting as an MCP client to your systems of record. The connector list will grow over time.
Native Apps Tab
Native Apps are first-party integrations built for depth, not just search:
- Jira Cloud — bidirectional, real-time sync of features, stories, bugs, statuses, and more. See the Jira Integration guide.
- Slack — capture feedback from Slack channels via the
/mbcommand and shortcuts, routed through the signal pipeline. See the Slack Integration guide.
How They Differ
| Connectors (MCP) | Native Apps | |
|---|---|---|
| Direction | MindBacklog reads your tools live | Data syncs into / out of MindBacklog |
| What it powers | Grounds Ask Mind's answers in your own knowledge, with citations | Deep workflow sync (Jira) & feedback capture (Slack) |
| Access | Read-only; nothing copied or stored | Bidirectional (Jira) / ingestion (Slack) |
| Examples | Confluence (live), Amplitude (soon) | Jira Cloud, Slack |
Plans & Access
Connectors require a Growth or Scale plan. Native Apps (Jira, Slack) are available on all plans. Both require the Admin role on the product to connect or disconnect. If you're on a plan without Connector access, the Connectors tab shows an upgrade prompt — but you can still disconnect any existing connection.
