Roadmap & Timeline

Overview

The Roadmap is where validated features move for execution planning. This is your strategic view of what gets built and when.

How to get there: Click Roadmap in the left sidebar (after Competitive Intel).

Features reach the Roadmap two ways: (1) you Accept an Insight from the Intelligence Hub — it lands as Under Consideration; or (2) you create a feature directly on the Roadmap. Inside the Roadmap, features progress through six statuses: Under Consideration → Planned → Scheduled → In Progress → Completed, with Archived for parked work.

Three Views

List View

Detailed Table

Features with title, owner, status, schedule (start/end dates), team assignment, and metadata. Supports sorting, filtering, and drag-and-drop reordering.

Timeline View

Gantt-Chart Visualization

Features as horizontal bars plotted across time. See scheduling conflicts, gaps, and workload distribution at a glance. Features without dates appear in an Unscheduled section.

Kanban View

Status Columns

Features organized into columns by status. Drag cards between columns to update status instantly.

💡
Stakeholder View

The Timeline view is especially useful for presentations and planning meetings. It gives stakeholders a visual understanding of what's being built and when.

Roadmap Statuses

StatusMeaning
Under ConsiderationAccepted from Intelligence Hub or created directly; awaiting prioritization
PlannedCommitted to building; in the queue
ScheduledStart / end dates locked in
In ProgressEngineering is actively building
CompletedShipped to users
ArchivedParked or deferred indefinitely (still searchable)

How to Schedule Features

Step 1

Open the Feature

Click a feature to open the side drawer, or navigate to its full detail page.

Step 2

Set Dates & Team

Set a Start Date and End Date. Assign a Team to indicate which engineering team is responsible. These dates power the Timeline view.

Best Practices

  • Set dependencies — Mark "blocked by" / "blocking" relationships to identify bottlenecks. The Timeline view highlights scheduling conflicts.
  • Use team assignments — Assign teams to features for resource planning visibility.
  • Export for planning — Export Roadmap features as CSV for sprint planning or stakeholder reports.
  • Filter by status — Focus on "In Progress" to see your active sprint, or "Planned" / "Scheduled" for upcoming work.
