Account & Organization Setup
Step 1: Create Your Account
Verify Email
Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link to activate your account.
Log In
Return to MindBacklog and log in with your credentials. You can reset your password at any time through the forgot password flow.
Step 2: Set Up Your Organization
After logging in for the first time, you'll be prompted to create an organization. An organization is the highest-level container in MindBacklog — it holds your team members, billing subscription, and products.
- Give your organization a name (typically your company name).
- One user can belong to multiple organizations and switch between them from the sidebar.
- You'll automatically be the Admin of any organization you create.
Choose a clear, recognizable organization name — your team members will see it when they join. You can always update it later in Organization Settings.
Invite Team Members
After your organization is set up, invite your team:
Inviting Users
Go to Settings → Users in the sidebar. Click Invite User, enter their email address, and select an organization role (Admin, User, or Viewer). You'll also be prompted to grant product-level access.
- If the invited user doesn't have an account, they'll receive an invitation email to register and join.
- If they already have an account, they're added to the organization immediately.
- Pending invitations can be resent or cancelled.
Give PMs and team leads Editor access so they can create and manage features. Give stakeholders Viewer access for visibility without edit risk.
Switching Organizations
If you belong to multiple organizations, use the organization switcher in the sidebar to change your active context. Each organization has its own products, users, and billing — completely isolated.
Free Trial
New organizations start with a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment method is required to start (cardless trial). At the end of the trial, select a plan and provide payment to continue.
Early adopters who sign up as Founding Members receive 50% off their plan price, locked in for life. This discount applies to any plan tier.
